I’m a marketer, writer, trend forecaster, and entrepreneur. I wear many hats, often at the same time. Life’s too short to do one thing and one thing alone, don’t you agree?
How did I get here? Glad you asked! I won’t bore you with my full life story; I’ll skip right to the best worst part.
The Inception: One Last Regrettable Interview
Back in 2015, I was a Marketing Manager for a tech company. When said company went belly-up, I (naturally!) looked for another job.
I never wanted to be an entrepreneur.
I know, it’s a dream for many, but it was never mine. I hate dealing with numbers and paperwork. My dream was far simpler: I just wanted a place to do what I was good at, marketing and communication.
But after a long string of interviews that made me question my own sanity (like that one guy who strongly and passionately disagreed with my answer to: “what of this goldfish do you wish?” — who asks these questions, anyway?), I decided to bite the bullet.
I had to build my dream from scratch, on my own.
Initial Investment in My Dream: $60 and a Whole Lotta Work
I started out on freelancing websites, but quickly outgrew them. It was obvious: I needed my own corner of the internet. Plus, I was never a fan of building your (digital) home on someone else’s land.
So I started my own company, a digital marketing agency called Idunn. I spent roughly $60 on hosting and the domain name. A client of mine at the time (bless his soul!) took care of the web design as a thank you for our work together.
I did everything else: content, copy, SEO, marketing for my business, looking for guest posting opportunities, social media, networking, and more. All that on top of an increasing load of client work.
Can you say: “hello, burnout”? I could and I did.
I acted as a freelancer for the first two years. Then I built a small team and a second agency, Copywritech.
Yeah, it doesn’t take much to get hooked on independence.
There’s a silver lining to my burnout, too. I can now brag that I’ve built not one, but two businesses on my own, with the absolute minimal investment, and with zero paid ads. My rise to (moderate) internet fame was “more organic” than Whole Foods.
And now, introducing business number three (told you I can’t stop!)
My All-Time Favorite Question: What Comes Next?
Ideas to power your future
Like a squirrel on Adderall, I’ve always been curious and impatient about the future.
So I built adrianatica.com, the place where I dissect the future. I scan, inspect, survey, examine, and draw conclusions about what might come.
Forecasting can come in many shapes and forms. On this website, you’ll find it in the shape of various services: trend analysis and forecasting, marketing and strategy consulting, or content marketing strategy.
Forecasting is the building block of each of them. It is naturally embedded in trend analysis and forecasting, of course. But it’s also built into all my other services — you can’t have a successful strategy (of any type!) without a close look to the future.
You will also find ideas to power your future in my blog section and in the free and paid resources that will be added to this website regularly. To access them, I strongly suggest you subscribe to my newsletter.
I’m Here to Inspire Today’s Actions for a Remarkable Future
I strongly believe you should always (always!) plan ahead. That’s easier to do when you know a thing ot two about the future — in business and in your personal life.
You don’t need a crystal ball to figure out the future. All you need is a set of trend analysis and forecasting tools that can give you an invaluable sneak peak into what’s to come.
Is it precise? No!
Is it better than going in blindly? Absolutely!
I’ve built this business to help YOUR business fare better in the future. Avoid being caught off guard by changes in your industry, in legislation or…in the world in general.
I’m Blatantly and Unapologetically Honest
Your idea may be unfit for the future. Your strategy may be unfeasible. Your business is not sustainable.
These things happen to the best of us. I’m not afraid to tell you when they happen to you.
BUT I’ll also be the one to tell you how to fix things. How to improve your strategy. How to adjust your business model to current and future demands.
I Believe in You
To date, I’ve worked with nearly 400 businesses in different advisory capacities or as a digital marketing partner. I can spot a bad strategy a million miles away.
But I also know that if you care enough work with a strategy advisor, you’re on the right track. Perhaps you’ll need a few more turns and route recalculations before you get to your destination. But you’ll get there.
I’m Definitely Not Everyone’s Cup of Tea
I choose my clients carefully. If we’re not a match, we’ll just be wasting each other’s time (and your money). I want you to succeed. I also want me to succeed.
For both of these things to happen, we need to have the same understanding of success. If that’s not the case, I can always recommend someone in my network who may be a better fit for what you need.
